THE SHIP SOCIETY OF SOUTH AFRICA is an organization founded in 1953 by a small group of maritime enthusiasts.

We offer:

• Our own club house conveniently located within the Cape Town
  harbour area.
• Reference books including Lloyd’s Registers of Shipping, Jane’s Ships
  and Marine News covering, between them, almost a century of shipping.
• Some 700 books on all aspects of shipping plus a comprehensive
  collection of videos and DVDs.
• A refreshment area.  Regular Club outings to places of interest.
• An excellent quarterly house magazine – Flotsam & Jetsam.
• Free on-line internet facilities.
• Very reasonable annual subscription rates.
