David Clarke

David Clarke (55) is an internationally recognised and award winning model ship maker with 30 years of fine model ship building behind him. He transforms plastic card, thin copper wire, human hair and whatever else is needed into a lifelike model, as specified by the client. The model is built in accordance with the original plans, plus a photographic study of the subject vessel. The end result is an incredibly realistic, detailed and beautiful masterpiece which would, (unless otherwise requested), be presented in a waterline format and in an equally carefully made glass display case. The photographs below hopefully will depict the care and attention that goes into the making of these handcrafted living ship models. Quotations will be given once the size, type and complexity of the job is agreed upon.

David Clarke specialises in tugs of all periods, cargo vessels, tankers, inland vessels, yachts and the development and production of paper model kits. He does not do sailing vessels, nor modern cruise liners. He can be contacted on email using the address: clarke@live.co.za
